| PRISONER TRANSPORTATION |
The Corrections Division conducts a majority of prisoner transportation's to and from medical and
dental appointments, funerals, court appearances and if convicted of a Felony and sentenced to more than
one year incarceration, to state prison. Some of the most dangerous criminals from our communities are
transported to various locations within, and out of New York State. The Sheriff's Office is also directed by
Family Court to assist the Department of Social Services with transportation of juveniles in their care and
custody who require secure transportation.
Corporal Tracy Proper is the first line supervisor for prisoner transportation details.
Correction Officers and Deputy Sheriff's do more than 1100 individual transportation's in one year.
