| D.E.P.U.T.Y. stands for Drug Education Prevention Useful To Youth. The DEPUTY summer Youth Program sends Deputy Sheriff's to any town summer youth recreation program upon request to speak about the Sheriff's Office, Law Enforcement and the dangers of drug and alcohol use. Each summer the Sheriff's Office also hosts a two day Deputy Youth Camp which is offered to participants of the town youth recreation camps in Columbia County. A very popular program, the 400 to 800 young people from all over Columbia County who participate each year interact with Deputy Sheriff's in a way which promotes confidence and trust. |
