                                      Serious Head-On Auto Accident
                                                         July 21, 2010                           

Claverack, NY   - Columbia County Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. reports that Deputy Sheriff David Rose was
dispatched by county 911 for a two car head on automobile collision on route 66 south of the intersection with
County Route 18 in the Town of Claverack at 9:52am this morning.

Mark Iacoviello, 57 years old of New Lebanon, NY was operating a 2005 Chrysler 300 sedan northbound on route
66 when witnesses report that he pulled into the southbound lane to pass a tractor trailer that was slowing in traffic
in front of him.  Iacoviello crashed into a southbound 1991 Chevrolet Pickup Truck operated by 81 year old Frank
Concile of Maple Avenue Hudson, NY.

Both drivers, who were sole occupants of their respective automobiles, were extricated by members of the West
Ghent Fire Department.  The Greenport Rescue Squad treated the drivers and transported them to a landing
zone to be airlifted by helicopter to the Albany Medical center.  Iacoviello complained of chest and arm pain and
facial lacerations.  Concile complained of a chest injury, arm pain and possible fractured leg.

Iacoviello was wearing a seatbelt and Concile was not as he had medical exemption from doing so.

The Greenport Fire and Police Departments and NYSP assisted at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation and charges are pending.

On the scene for the Sheriff’s Office were Undersheriff James Sweet, Captain David Bartlett, Sr. Investigator
William Foster, Investigator Patrick Logue and Deputy Eli Fieser.

               New Lebanon Man Charged in Fatal Accident
                                                     August 12. 2010

Claverack, NY        Sheriff David Harrison, Jr. reports that 57 Year old Mark F Iacoviello of New Lebanon was
charged and issued tickets for Reckless Driving (Vehicle & Traffic Misdemeanor), and Passing in a No Passing
Zone (Vehicle & Traffic Infraction). The tickets were issued by Deputy Sheriff David Rose on Wednesday, August
11th.  Iacoviello is to appear in Claverack Town Court on August 17, 2010.  

The Sheriff’s Office has also submitted a request to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles which
requires Mr. Iacoviello’s drivers’ license to be reviewed and reevaluated.  This is as a result of the accident he was
involved in on July 21, 2010 on Rte 66 in the Town of Claverack.  The vehicle that Mr. Iacoviello was operating
struck a vehicle operated by 81 year old Frank E. Concile of Hudson, NY.  Both were injured in the accident and
Mr. Concile died as a result of his injuries on July 25, 2010.

The investigation of the accident has been ongoing by Deputy Sheriff Rose, Sr/Investigator Kevin Skype and
Investigator Patrick Logue.  Investigators have found no indication that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor
to the accident.
