CHATHAM MAN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL SEXUAL ACT

Chatham, NY - Columbia County Sheriff David Harrison, Jr. reports that Sheriff’s Investigators Mark
Dunspaugh and Patrick Logue arrested 40 year old Lloyd R. Laurange, of Locust Street, Chatham, NY
charging him with Criminal Sexual Act 2nd Degree, a class D-Felony. Arrested May 17th at 4:30pm,
Laurange is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a 13 year old male victim. The incident occurred on
April 27th and was reported to the Sheriff’s Office May 17th. Laurange is someone who is known to the victim
and the incident occurred at the victims’ residence.
Sheriff Harrison said the investigation is continuing and other charges are possible. Anyone who may have
information of this type of activity involving Laurange is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Criminal
Investigation Branch at 828-4316.
Laurange is being held in the Columbia County Jail without bail following his arraignment in the Village of
Chatham Court by Judge Mark Portin. He will return to Village Court at a later time.
