MAN ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO BUY HEROIN

Hudson, NY – Columbia County Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. reports 42 year old Scott Ford of County Route 9,
Chatham, NY was arrested Thursday, March 18th at 2:55pm on charges of Criminal Solicitation 4th degree, a class
A Misdemeanor, and Drinking an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle, a traffic violation.
The Sheriff’s Office Drug Education and Enforcement Unit was contacted yesterday by a woman from the Hudson
area who stated that she was receiving unwanted telephone calls from an individual asking to buy drugs from her.
Knowing Ford was calling for illegal purposes, she set up a meeting with him at the 7th Street Park in Hudson.
However instead of going to the park herself, the woman immediately came to the Sheriff’s Office to meet with a
Drug Investigator to report the incident.
Sr. Investigator William Foster and Investigator Patrick Logue responded to and met Ford at the park where he
asked the Investigators if he could buy heroin from them. He was taken into custody on the solicitation charge,
processed at the Sheriff’s Office and released with appearance tickets, directing him to appear in the Hudson City
Court February 24th @ 8:30am.
Sheriff Harrison stated; “I commend the woman involved for taking the initiative to report this incident so that we
could take the appropriate action.”
