                       Four More Arrested for Welfare Fraud
                                                  November 5, 2009

Hudson, NY - Columbia County Sheriff David Harrison, Jr. reports that four  people have been arrested as a
result of the continuing investigations by the Columbia County Welfare Fraud Task Force.   Arrested
Wednesday, November 4th by Sheriff’s Investigator John Rivero were; 63 year old Andrew Barca of Shaker
Road, New Lebanon, 25 year old Tabitha Muller of route 23 Craryville, each were charged with Welfare
Fraud 4th degree a class E-Felony, Grand Larceny 4th degree, a class E- Felony and Filing a False Written
Statement, a class E-felony. Also arrested was 33 year old Dina-Marie Olivieri of Route 9J, Hudson and was
charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree,  Welfare Fraud 3rd degree both class D-Felonies and Filing a False
Written Statement.  James R. Begraph of Allen Street Hudson was charged with the class A-Misdemeanors of
Petit Larceny and Welfare Fraud 5th degree.

Olivieri is accused of stealing $3,002.00, Barca, $1,230.00, Muller $1,003.00 and Begraph, $200.00.

Arraigned in the Hudson City Court by Judge Richard Koweek, all four defendants were remanded to the
county jail; Muller in lieu of $1,500.00 cash or $3,000.00 bail bond, Barca in lieu of $5,000.00 cash or
$10,000.00 bail bond, Olivieri in lieu of $1,500.00 cash or $3,000 bail bond and Begraph was held on
$750.00 cash or $1,500.00 bail bond.  They were directed to return to the Hudson City Court Tuesday,
November 10th @ 8:30am.

Sheriff Harrison stated that since the development and inception of the Welfare Fraud Task Force in April of
this year by the Board of Supervisors, eleven individuals have been arrested realizing a savings to Columbia
County taxpayers of $116759.17.

Anyone who may have information on individuals or companies illegally obtaining public assistance is asked
to call the Welfare Fraud Task Force hot line at 518-822-8477.

Sheriff Harrison said, “Public assistance is for those who need it, not steal it.”
