                  KINDERHOOK FATAL AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT
                                                     November 10, 2008


Kinderhook, NY  – Columbia County Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. reports that his office is investigating a fatal
automobile crash that occurred Sunday November 11th @ 1:44pm.  

County 911 assigned Deputy Sheriff Travis VanAlstyne to respond to a report of a serious personal injury crash
on county route 25 at the intersection with Rabbit Lane in the Town of Kinderhook.  

Frederick D. Zelino, Jr., 55 years old of Stuyvesant, NY was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on
county route 25.  For unknown reasons at this time, Zelino’s vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lane striking
a 2002 Ford operated by 53 year old Donna L. Jostlin of Dales Bridge Road, Germantown, NY, head on. Zelino,
Jostlin and her 60 year old passenger, Linda Dedrick of Germantown, NY were all extricated from the vehicles by
fire and rescue personnel.

Helicopters from Albany Med Flight and Lifeguard airlifted Jostlin and Dedrick to the Albany Medical Center and
Zelino was transported to AMC by the Valatie Rescue Squad. Dedrick was pronounced dead at the Albany
Medical Center at approximately 4:24pm.

The Sheriff’s Office Incident Scene and Accident Investigation unit were assisted by members of the Uniformed
Patrol and Criminal Investigation Branches and Captain David Bartlett.

Also assisting at the scene were members of the Village of Kinderhook, Stuyvesant, Stuyvesant Falls and
Niverville Fire Companies and the Greenport Rescue Squad.

At this time the investigation is continuing.
