                      SEVEN ARRESTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
                                                          August 6, 2008


Columbia County, NY:  Sheriff David W. Harrison Jr. reports the arrest of seven individuals for dealing and
possessing illegal narcotics in various locations in Columbia County.  The arrests are the result of a sixth month
investigation by the Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement & Education Unit.  Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office were assisted
by New York State Police Investigators from Livingston, New York State Police CNET, Detectives from the Hudson City
Police Department, Catskill Police Department and the Columbia County District Attorneys Office.  All were arrested on
August 5, 2008 between the hours of 1:00pm and 9:00pm.  

Those arrested are:  

Keith Hurst -  20 years old of 609 Third Street,Albany,NY 2Cts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree
– Class B Felonies and 2cts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree – A Misdemeanor

Ardell L. Williams – 32 years old of Apple Meadow Village in Greenport, NY 2cts of criminal sale of a controlled
substance 3rd degree and 2cts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.

Brandy Mann – 27 Years old of Union Street, Hudson New York. 2cts of criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd
degree and 2cts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree. Mann was apprehended after a traffic
stop by SWAT team members and after a search conducted by Deputy Heath Benansky’s K-9 Partner Nico recovered
a small amount of cocaine and marihuana in the vehicle.

Andre McCalop  48 years old of 17 Allen Street, Hudson New York, 2cts of criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd
degree and 2cts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.

A 17 year old from Catskill, New York for 3cts of criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd degree and 3cts of criminal
possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.

Amorette U. Mooney 35 years old of Chester Ave, Stottville 1ct of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th
degree.

Eric Izzo  46 years old of 2 Rock Street in the Village of Philmont 1ct of criminal possession of a controlled substance
7th degree.                 


The arrests and processing were made by Sheriff’s Investigators and Uniformed Deputy Sheriffs assisted by Sheriff’s
Correction Officers.  

The individuals were arrested pursuant to warrants issued by Columbia County Court Judge Jonathan Nichols.  The
cases were presented to a Grand Jury on Tuesday by District Attorney Beth Cozzolino.  Additionally Izzo and Mooney
were arrested on warrants signed by Judge Tracey of the Village of Philmont Court.  All were remanded to the
Columbia County Correctional Facility.  Sheriff Harrison advises that the investigations involved various communities in
Columbia County.  The people arrested are considered medium level drug dealers in Columbia County.  More arrests
are pending and the investigation is continuing at this time.

District Attorney Beth Cozzolino states, "These arrests are the result of a long term investigation and many hours of
coordinated efforts by the Columbia County Sheriff Office, the District Attorneys Office and other police agencies in
Columbia County.  We must continue to coordinate our efforts to be successful in removing drug dealers in our
community."
