FATAL CAR ACCIDENT - TOWN OF LVINGSTON
FEBRUARY 1, 2008
Ellizaville – Town of Livingston, NY – Columbia County Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. reports that his office is
investigating a one car fatal automobile crash. County 911 dispatched a Sheriff’s Patrol to the crash at 12:42pm
this afternoon on county route 19 just north of Vosburg Road, Elizaville in the Town of Livingston.
Northern Dutchess Paramedics transported thirty nine, (39) year old Nicole A. Sardaro of county route 19 Elizaville
to Columbia Memorial Hospital where she died due to her injuries. Sardaro was the only person in the vehicle and
was south bound on county route 19 when she lost control of her vehicle, left the east side of the roadway and the
drivers side of the vehicle struck a tree. Members of the Livingston Fire District assisted Northern Dutchess
Paramedics in removing Sardaro from the vehicle.
Sheriff Harrison who was on the scene, said the roadway was slippery due to freezing rain and ice storm, which
appears to be a contributing factor to the accident, however the investigation is continuing.
In addition to Sheriff Harrison, Captain David P. Bartlett, Lieutenant James E. Andrews, Sr. Investigator William
Foster, Investigator Anthony Brahm, Sergeant William Zincio and Deputy Sheriff’s David Proper, William
Dunspaugh and Scott Leggett assisted at the scene.
