October 2, 2007
Hillsdale, NY Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. reports that a 35 year old Hillsdale woman was arrested on
Monday, October 1, 2007, after an investigation by members of the Sheriff’s Drug Education and Enforcement
Unit, (DEEU).
Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, K-9 Team and Investigators executed a search warrant signed by County Court
Judge, the Hon. Jonathan Nichols, at #40 TriBrook Road in the Town of Hillsdale on October 1, 2007 at about 11:
30am. As a result of the search warrant, 114 bundles, (packets) consisting of about 8 Grams of Heroin ready for
sale, a large amount of narcotics trafficking, concealment and packaging materials, needles and more than
$1,600 in cash were seized.
Kristen W. Keeler, 35 years old of the same address, was at home when the warrant was executed and she was
arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of A Controlled Substance With Intent to Sell 3rd Degree – Class
B Felony. She was arraigned before Greenport Town Judge, the Hon. Robert Brenzel and remanded to the
Columbia County Jail on No-Bail to return to court on October 5th, 2007.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office DEEU describe Keeler as a significant dealer of Heroin with customers from
Columbia County, northeastern Dutchess County, western Berkshire County, MA and northwestern Connecticut.
The Sheriff’s DEEU has been working with the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, Connecticut State Police
Western District Major Crime Squad, Berkshire County Drug Task Force, New York State Police in Livingston and
Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, all of whom provided information or directly assisted in this
investigation over the past several months. Information obtained indicated that up to three trips every week were
made to New York City to purchase Heroin in order to keep up with the sales demand for the tri-state area
mentioned above. The Heroin seized as a result of this search warrant and arrest has a street value of
approximately $2,300.
In addition to this arrest, the Sheriff points out that Charles G. Lamson, 31 years old, of Salisbury, Ct., was
arrested by the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad on August 28, 2007 and charged
with Sale of Illegal Drugs and Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell in Connecticut, after a joint investigation
by that agency, the Sheriff’s Office DEEU and the Dutchess County Drug Task Force. Lamson was also known as
a dealer of Heroin in Connecticut, as well as in Columbia and Dutchess Counties in New York State. (Contact for
Lamson arrest:860-824-2500 Det. Brian Narkewitz).
The Sheriff commended the agencies who assisted, as well as the Deputy Sheriff’s and Investigators from his
Office involved in both investigations. The investigations are continuing and further charges and/or arrests are
probable.
