                                  STOCKPORT HOME INVASION ARREST
                                                                    September 16, 2007


Stockport, NY
– Columbia County Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. reports that two men have been arrested as a
result of a home invasion that occurred on route 9 in the Town of Stockport. County 911 dispatched Deputy
Sheriff’s at 6:07am this morning for a report of a home invasion committed by two individuals.  The suspects
who had fled the scene were apprehended by Deputy Sheriff’s a short time later with assistance from State
Police Patrols.   The 25-year-old male occupant of the dwelling was injured when he was slashed in the face
by one of the suspects.  He was treated at the Columbia Memorial Hospital and released with several stitches.  
The victim’s fiancée with whom he resides, was not injured.

Arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd degree, a class C-Felony were, 33-year-old Frances Vindigni of
Highland Avenue Philmont, NY and 33 year old Lellan W. Smith of Parkwood Blvd. Hudson, NY.  

Arraigned in the Stockport Court by Town Judge James Funk, Vindigni and Smith were remanded to the
County Jail without bail.

Additional charges are pending and the investigation is continuing by Uniformed Deputy Sheriff’s and
members of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Branch.
